Hurricane Dean and Roatan
We were so fortunate to have Dean miss us. Experienced some great waves to surf. Roatan gets missed with many hurricanes, mainly because of how it sits close to Honduras and below the Caribbean storm lane. Most of the storms approach us, but than shift up towards Belize, Mexico, etc or turn downward towards the mainland of Honduras. Hurricane Mitch did hit Roatan 10 years ago but on the east side.
